Getting to the Root Cause

Hello everyone! I thought it was time to send you all an update on my health journey... I'm slowly getting there & have made some quite fascinating discoveries that I simply have to divulge and I'm hoping that I'm now getting to the root cause of this mystery, chronic illness!
Believe it or not, I'm going to begin this email by talking about teeth, which I'm sure is the last thing you thought I was going to say :)
This one took me by surprise, as you can imagine I'm pretty desensitized to anything deemed as weird, alternative or out there, by this point nothing much surprises me but when I first learnt of this concept I'm about to share, I was quite skeptical. In fact, I still tell people quite tentatively as it sounds quite unbelievable.
To make sure everyone is up to speed, I have been dealing with a mystery, chronic illness for the last 7 years nearly. I have various symptoms, mainly related to fatigue, to simplify I kind of feel like I have the flu, in varying degrees each day. Imagine that day before full blown flu hits, you know it's coming and can start to feel it creeping in, you kind of know you're going to wake up the next day man down. You're achey, drained, everything hurts, you tire really easily and just need to be in a hot bath followed by bed.
I've had a whole host of other symptoms that have come and gone over the years, so many bizarre ones, but think, dizziness, headaches, stomach pain, nausea, weakness of all the muscles (you feel as though you couldn't lift your arm or even speak sometimes) burning skin, chronic pain, heart & chest pain, funny turns like you may pass out, really low immune system so you get allll the bugs going and take ages longer to recover from them, pulled muscles from exercise take weeks to repair... I won't go on, but it's not been fun, lets say that..
I've thrown everything known to man at it over these 7 years and never given up in my quest to find whats really causing these bizarre & unexplained symptoms, refusing to settle with an unexplainable diagnoses such as CFS, M.E, Fibromyalgia... there's a long list of names for my list of symptoms, but none of them explain the why and none have treatment. I can't really settle until I understand what's going on with my body, I just know there's something underlying that is causing these symptoms, the body doesn't send out the warning call without good reason.
.
Lots of things have helped over the years and I've had mini reprieves for sometimes months at a time but my symptoms have always seemed to creep back.
So I find myself 7 years down the line, the last 18 months being worse than ever and looking for the next thing that might get to the bottom of what's going on.
Which brings me to teeth.
It was my Sister that recommended I watch a film called 'Root Cause'.
I tried to find this film online to watch but it had been removed from the internet due to a class action law suit from a group of unhappy dentists that felt this film was going to put them out of business (which it will).
It took me a while of searching, and a while of waiting for it to be available again but last October I finally managed to find it to watch. And what I saw was basically my story. It's a film of a guy who had all the same symptoms I have and his ten year journey of searching, trying all the same things I had too. He soon discovered that the cause of his health issues was due to a root canal he had done in the past as well as the site where he'd had his wisdom teeth removed.
A root canal is where a tooth has died or is infected and the dentist will keep the tooth in the mouth but remove the dead pulp or infection in order to save the tooth. What we now know is that even the best root canal specialist in the world will never be able to remove all of the infection, it will remain in the tiny tubules, leaving infection in the jawbone. If the tooth is dead then you are left with dead tissue in the mouth, no other dead organ would be left in the body other than in dentistry.
So this causes the immune system to react, the body is aware there is infection that needs healing and the immune system will rush to the site but wont be able to get in to heal that part of the body after a root canal has been performed. So this causes chronic inflammation which can cause issues long term, the immune system can become so busy attempting to heal this site that when a virus or bacteria then enter the body, your resources have been used up and there's little left for anything else.
Parasites, bacterias & virus's are quite clever, they soon realize there is a lovely, warm place in the body where they can't be discovered and they use this root canal site to hide out and have some fun. This can eventually leak out into the body giving you a constant stream of toxins for the body to be dealing with.
A lot of people have had their wisdom teeth removed, but don't realize that if the ligament is not removed during the extraction process (which it isn't in 97% of cases as this is something most dentists don't even know about themselves) then the body won't fill in this area with healthy jawbone, what happens instead is that the body keeps this site as a 'cavitation'. This is simply an empty space that the body will use as storage, or a dumping ground, for viruses, bacterias, parasites & pathogens. Again, the immune system is aware that shits going down but can't get in to do anything bout it. Again, the nasties know this, and create lovely little nests, eating more and more through your jawbone to create space and then venture out into the body undeterred.
So what does all this mean. Some people will struggle to manage this extra load of infection, toxins and pathogens in the body and this can cause a whole host of symptoms such as all the ones I've been dealing with. It may not be problematic instantly, sometimes it takes years for this overload to build up and it of course depends on your make up & how your immune system reacts. But, it can be the reason for many peoples chronic illness and chronic pain.
I had never heard of the Tooth Organ Meridian Chart before, but as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher I do understand the energy systems of the body and the effect it can have if those energy pathways are blocked.
Each of your teeth is connected to a different organ in your body through your meridians, these are the energy pathways in the body, the same ones used in Chinese medicine for acupuncture.
If there is a problem in your tooth then this will cause problems all the way down that Meridian line, if that is connected to your bladder & kidneys for example, then this can cause chronic UTI's. If connected to the brain this can cause brain fog, headaches, fatigue... and on and on.
Metals in the mouth such as amalgam fillings and crowns will affect these energy pathways and cause similar issues.
When I discovered all of this information I found myself a biological dentist, which are hard to come by, my search for a good one took more than 6 months, a lot of money and some very difficult experiences... it's a whole other article, which I will send out soon...
A biological dentist is of the belief that the body is a whole system which includes the teeth. A lot of dentists believe that the head is somehow separate from the rest of the body and anything that goes on the in the mouth has no effect on the body and its complex systems. They believe that the mouth is like the lobby of a hotel, whatever that looks like gives you a really good idea of what the rest of the hotel will be like.
A biological dentist will be expert in the concepts above and will know how to rectify these issues. They also believe in supporting the body during any work with things such as high dose vitamins, certain foods & ozone therapy.
I began by having the metals in my mouth removed, an amalgam filling which had a lot of mercury in & a metal crown which was hiding a mercury filling underneath too.
I then discovered that I had a root canaled tooth which was infected and 4 cavitations where I'd had my wisdom teeth removed 13 years ago, these were harbouring many different bacterias, viruses, toxins & even Lyme disease.
Without wanting to put any pressure on this discovery to 'Fix me once and for all' I knew that until I had this source of toxins removed I could never heal fully.
'You can't get dry while you're still in the shower.'
I love this saying, I had been toxin clearing and doing amazing things to heal for years, but if I didnt get rid of the source, if I didn't get out of the shower, I would never be able to get dry.
I found an amazing biological dentist in Switzerland (after kissing a few frogs) and had my surgery there 2 weeks ago.
They were absolutely amazing.
It was a very long surgery, 4 1/2 hours to remove a tooth and place a ceramic implant directly in, I had a titanium implant removed (it was very unwilling to come out) and another ceramic implant immediately placed. I then had my 4 cavitations removed, to do this they go in through the side of the jaw and they removed the 4 sections of jawbone that were infected. They did this whilst I was awake. I have never been through something so huge and after I'd had quite a traumatic experience with a biological dentist in London that was incredibly painful and traumatic actually, I was nervous.
I was so well looked after though and my surgeon was the most caring, thoughtful, empathetic person I've possibly ever met. My dental nurse and the whole team in that room took such good care of me and I felt so well held and heard.
I think that's what makes the difference, I have almost never felt seen by a dentist, this team made me feel completely seen and I was genuinely the most important person in that room. It made what had the potential to be a very traumatic experience, a positive one.
I then stayed on for another 3 days for the detox part of the process. This part of the surgery is as important as the actual work. You are looked after by a wonderful team who take you through iv's of high dose vitamins, Ozone blood therapy, magnetic field therapy, hypabaric oxygen chamber, lymphatic drainage massage, cranial sacral therapy, cryochamber, healing foods, photon light therapy, ion detox footpaths.. It was amazing! The nurses were wonderful and looked after me like a Mother would, bringing me blankets, hot water bottles, soups, tea & just genuinely caring about how I was feeling & my recovery.
It is amazing to me that a place like this even exists, but I felt so lucky that not only did I find this place but that I was able to go there. It is not the cheapest option, none of biological dentistry is cheap actually, but I really didnt want to get this wrong, it was such a huge thing to go through and I felt I only had one chance to get this right, it was so important to me that if I was going to do this, it was going to be with the right place. I have struggled so much with my health & it felt like this was the moment to really invest to have the best chance of it helping me long term.
I'm 2 weeks into recovery now, which is a 6 week process. Due to the very progressive methods the dentists use and all of the healing treatments, there was no pain after the operation (I still don't understand how there was no pain!) very little swelling & no bruising at all. I felt pretty good after the surgery for those few days I stayed in Switzerland.
When I returned home the healing became more intense as my body adjusted, potentially the air pressure from the flight causing some stress to the body too, quite a few days in bed and lots and lots of sleep and rest. I've been up and down with good days and some more difficult days, some pain, aching , discomfort with the teeth but nothing that the wonders of ground clove couldn't help with. There is a lot of healing to be done in the mouth, lots of stitches and lots of regrowth of gum & bone to be done but I'm healing really well.
You prepare your body pre surgery with an anti inflammatory diet and many vitamins including copious amounts of Vitamin D to ensure the bone heals beautifully, this coupled with the wonderful therapies helps to ensure a smooth recovery process.
I'm not done just yet, I have a detox programme to follow to heal the gut and to remove the Lyme disease which had leaked out into the body. But, I feel good. I feel better. I feel different to how I felt before the surgery, not every day but I'm getting glimpses of normality.
There were lots of aches and pains in my body that have gone since the surgery, I used to go numb down my left side every night, for 7 years, I've not felt this since the surgery. I've got my appetite back and can feel energy returning, I no longer grind or clench my teeth during the night. there's some positive changes so far.
So, I'm hopeful. I'm hopeful that this can be a moment where things start to change for me. I'm beyond ready for that change. After 7 years of ill health I feel this would wrap up this 7 year cycle I've been through quite nicely. Strangely, my surgery was booked for 7 years TO THE DAY since my health issues began. That made me smile. I am following my intuition at every turn and leaning on the Universe to guide me through this healing, I've given up my healing now to the Divine & I'm trusting that this is a huge step towards recovery.
And since the surgery I feel ready for teaching. Which feels amazing. And feels right...
My weekly Tuesday Morning class will be back really soon at my new place in Frensham, Farnham. An email about the first class back will be following.
And Kundalini by the Moon is back, the next date is Wednesday 11th June.
The last one was probably my favorite workshop I've ever taught!!
Cannot wait to see you all soon & I just want to say a huge thank you to you all, for the support, the patience, for the messages that have kept me going and mean so much to me... shout out to Kerry for the gorgeous casserole and fresh bread that was very much needed that day.
Sending so much love to you all!
